We have had a few busy weeks of Christmas activities and events at The Beeches Nursing home.
Firstly, we had the Scandinavian reindeer (Phils farm) come to visit us and Santa made a surprise arrival on the sleigh with Dasher the reindeer. Everyone loved spending time with Dasher and we all got a photo taken with them. After this event, the residents enjoyed a relaxing afternoon listening to Christmas music and having hot chocolate and marshmallows.
We also enjoyed a visit from Santa to the home, he came in and sang some Christmas songs and we all got into the Christmas spirit.
Both men and women had a pamper day in the month of December. The men were pampered by Lenny the barber with haircuts and Turkish shaves while the ladies were pampered by Ashleen (Beautician) with different treatments such as: Gel nails and hand massage, nail file and paint and neck and shoulder massages.
The nursery children were very kind in sending Christmas cards to our residents and as you can see from the photos below, they all enjoyed getting these special cards.
We had some musical entertainment over the past few weeks including our very own talent show which we worked very hard to practice for over the past few months, we had Tom the music man and a lovely, humbling carol service with St Ronan’s choir. We also had a Sound healing spa session with Tessa who created a relaxing event with Christmas sounds and bells.
Our Christmas Party entertainment was with Barry Kirwan – have a look at our previous post to read all about this event.
We have all had a great few weeks of Christmas activities and events.
We are all looking forward to Christmas and a relaxing time to recharge our batteries for the new year.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – from all the staff and residents at The Beeches Nursing home.
