Falls Prevention
Reducing falls is so important for maintaining the health, well-being and independence of our residents within the Nursing Home so we recently joined in a Falls Prevention Talk.
This session was run by Charleen Piggot who is the Home Safety Check Coordinator within Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council and Alison Cooke who is responsible for Falls Prevention talks within the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.
4 residents joined in with the talk and learnt how important our footwear was in order to prevent falls, we also learnt about trip hazzards, how some of our medicines may make us more unsteady and ensuring there is good lighting in each area to help reduce falls.
All residents learnt something new and we would like to thank both Charleen and Alison for taking the time to deliver this educational talk.
