May Events 2019
At the start of May we held a special event called Donkey week. The residents enjoyed completing arts and crafts related to the donkey topic. They made donkey silhouette pictures and weaving different colored pieces of card. They painted and put them together to make a beautiful mosaic. We had a visit from a miniature donkey called Munchie. The residents got the opportunity to groom and feed Munchie who enjoyed all the attention. The residents fed Munchie rich tea biscuits as that was his favorite snack.
Outings in May included visits for picnics to Dundrum Castle, bowling to Lisburn and a group of residents enjoyed going for a walk around Montalto and then to the café.
In May we held a meeting to find out who would be interested in joining a Walking Group. we talked about where the residents would like to go on walks, discussed which evening suited most people, and the benefits of walking both physically and mentally. There was great interest and the first walking group commenced on Thursday 2nd May and it ran for 6 weeks. The walking group went to Hillsborough forest park, Newcastle promenade, Lady Dixon Park, Murlough nature reserve, and the Quoile River.
