Summer Scheme
This year’s Summer Scheme had a theme of “Alice in Wonderland”.
Residents done some painting of a scene from the Mad Hatters Tea Party others created characters from the story. We made some Airdry Clay models of “The White Rabbit” with Jude from “Jude Creates”.
Some residents enjoyed going out for lunch to The Millbrook Hotel, some went for a scenic drive and stopped for some gravy chips.
Some went on a scavenger hunt to Glass water in Downpatrick
We had a visit from Catherine from Amazon Jungle got to see all the animals, this went down a treat.
We had “The Beeches Bake off ” everyone made a lemon drizzle cake but the guys from A couldn’t wait for them to be judged and ate the cake before our own Paul Hollywood (aka chef Paddy) could have a sample – the wonderful Cottage D won this.
We had a pool competition with the winners being residents again from Cottage D – Lynne and Michael.
Relaxing beauty treatments with Ashleen, some had nails filed and polished, some had neck and shoulder massage and others had some threading done.
Both Damien and Deborah celebrated their Birthdays.
And we had lots of music with Kelly Brown, Tom the Music Man and we had a visit to Drake Music Studio’s getting to try out new percussion instruments where everyone really enjoyed the experience.
Finishing off the week we held some staff races and competing against the cottages, residents cheered on the staff that worked in their cottage with the Winners being Cottage B as the others cheated using a pin to burst the🎈 for the deciding game (shame on them). For Lunch we had The Mad Hatters Tea Party and a visit from Brennan’s Ice Cream van before we started off the afternoon presenting Certificates and having a karaoke Party in the garden.
