#TILIIFRIENDFEST at Number 44
To celebrate Learning Disability Week 2020 which runs from 15th to 21st June, the service users from Number 44 joined in by completing lots of fun activities from the TILII (Telling It Like It Is) Group resource booklet. The TILII Group is an advocacy group for people with a learning disability.
Colin, Timothy and Patricia have enjoyed completing the TILII booklet, which was full of fun activities such as dot-to-dots, spot the difference and quizzes. Timothy joined in on the Open Arts Dance class via Zoom, a contemporary dance program that provides dance training for people with a disability. Timothy learnt a new dance routine for the Katy Perry song Roar. Timothy was excellent at following the instructions which paid off, as he was able to complete the dance routine for the entire song. What an excellent achievement! Timothy also got to see his friends from The Beeches that were also performing the routine.
Colin, Timothy and Patricia have been using lockdown as an opportunity to develop their cooking skills. This week, it was pizza making! Master Chef wouldn’t have had a look in as the practiced their fantastic pizzeria skills. From rolling out the base, to customizing their pizzas with their own special toppings, the guys thoroughly enjoyed this experience of making their very own pizzas.
They also had great fun planting their sunflower seeds and are looking forward to watching them grow.
Colin has been keeping busy, staying connected with his friends by writing to them and personally posting the letters.
