#TILIIFRIENDFEST
To celebrate Learning Disability Week 2020 which runs from 15th-21st June, Residents have joined in with lots of fun activities. Some of these were forwarded from the TILII Group (Telling It Like It Is). The TILII Groups are advocacy groups for people with a learning disability and to support them we:
Tuned into TILII TV and watched the show on the importance of friendship, then completed the accompanying worksheets. We had to think of 3 things that make a good friend. Karen felt a good friend was someone who listens, makes time for her, is understanding and cheers her up when she is feeling sad. We chatted about how important it was for our well being to keep in touch with our friends during lockdown.
Karen, Debbie, Hilda and Fiona decided to design a friendship bracelet and then used beautiful coloured beads to make it. They all did a fantastic job as you can see from the photographs. Karen decided to give her bracelet to staff member Angela who was delighted to get such a lovely hand-made gift.
To finish off our fun we tried the TILII Quiz which featured a round on: Name that chocolate bar and an animal mash up. We all had a good giggle doing this and in the end our Quiz Champion was
Gordon who got most of his answers correct. Well done Gordon!
