Well Done Sharon and Don!!
Well done to Sharon and Don for completing their Sensory Storytelling course through Triangle and Tale time, the course ran from April to August, having weekly 1hr zoom sessions with Vicky McFarland. Sharon thoroughly enjoyed these sessions, making friends with others and learning new skills. Don and Sharon worked through a sensory training work booklet on why we tell sensory stories and how to make a sensory story using the 5 senses- touch, taste, sight, sound and smell. Don and Sharon then went onto make their own story using the 5 W’s – Who, What, Where and Why. Sharon wrote a sensory story along with the support from Don. Sharon’s story was called ‘Max’s Adventure at the Party’. The story was about a Labrador called Max and he went to a party and ate the whole birthday cake and burst the party balloons with excitement. Don and Sharon added tactile sensory objects to sensorise the story using a cuddly toy dog, the smell of fresh cut grass, a balloon and a cake.
See pictures below of Sharon and Don after delivering their sensory story to the group via zoom.
