Fabulous Flowers and Pretty Pumpkins
It’s that time of year again we see lots of beautiful pumpkins, of all different sizes scattered around the Beeches. The residents look forward to carving and decorating their Pumpkins every year.
Robina, Briege, Nicola and Karen chose to use their pumpkins as a floral arrangement. Staff member Bronagh is a qualified florist, she gave the ladies some tips and advice when arranging their flowers and showed them where’s best to put their foliage to ensure the oasis is hidden. The ladies done a fantastic job, they created wonderful arrangements for their cottage and for the front foyer, for the visitors to admire. John, Briege, Rachel, Dickie and Sharon chose to paint their pumpkin pink. They used vibrant pink flowers and lots of beautiful foliage to create their master piece. The residents enjoyed chatting about their memories of Halloween’s as children, dressing up, trick or treating and dunking for apples.
Damien and Marie also enjoyed a flower arranging session with Bronagh. Damien told the ladies that he used to do the gardening when he lived at home and he thoroughly enjoyed working with the flowers and using the foliage to create a beautiful arrangement for his cottage.
Niall, Walter, Robert and Ian enjoyed scooping out the middle of the pumpkin and then drew a funny face. Kevin a member of staff then cut it out with a sharp knife. The men also enjoyed having a go at using their pumpkin for a floral arrangement. The guys done a fantastic job for being their first time.
Everyone enjoyed this seasonal activity.
We would like to wish you all a Happy Halloween.
