Leaves are Falling Autumn is Calling
The residents at The Beeches Residential Home have been very busy this week, enjoying the lead up to Halloween. Although we wont be having a Halloween Party in central core this year due to Covid, the residents are still looking forward to having their Halloween parties within their cottages with their friends. The residents have been busy coloring-in and making Autumn/Halloween decorations for their cottages. Fiona, Karen, Damien, Alan and Russell enjoyed making Ghost handprints and decorating them. Robina, Karen, Nicola, Briege and Patricia enjoyed painting and decorating Autumn wreaths, the colours are beautiful. Briege, Chris, Shirley and Rachel enjoyed making paper plate witches by painting and decorating them. Everyone is very proud of their fantastic work and everyone’s great work is being displayed in their cottage Foyers.
Cottage C have been enjoying a ten pin bowling tournament this week with Chris and Paul winning joint 1st place.
The Beeches also had a little visitor from Martha the cocker spaniel therapy dog. Martha calls round to see the residents in their cottages. John loves to see Martha coming to get a big hug from her. Martha sits on Johns knee and he chats away to her , telling her the names of his dogs he used to have at home growing up. Martha gets spoilt with lots of walks around the grounds from Sharon, Robina, Paul and Karen. The benefits of dog therapy is well documented and the positive effects it has on some of our residents mood is amazing.
The residents have been taking advantage of the lovely crisp autumn weather, getting out for lots of lovely walks, enjoying all the beautiful Autumn leaves lying on the ground. We had great fun with the leaves , throwing them in the air like confetti.
We hope you are all well and keeping safe.
