UPDATE (22/12/2020): Over 100 staff and 57 residents were successfully vaccinated with their first dose over the 2 days without incident. We are extremely grateful to the professionalism and skill of all the South Eastern HSC Trust staff both nurses and administrators, who worked closely with our care teams in both homes. Sessions ran very smoothly and we look forward to welcoming them back in the early part of the New Year.
UPDATE (15/12/2020): Vaccinations dates for both The Beeches Residential Home and The Beeches Nursing Home have now been confirmed.
Beeches Residential Home: Friday, 18th December 2020
Beeches Nursing Home: Sunday, 20th December 2020
A second dose will be administered 21 days later to all residents and staff who successfully receive a first dose on the dates above.
Appropriate information has been made available to all residents, families and staff. Home managers will be available throughout the week to discuss any questions.
To all our staff who have consented to receive the vaccination: It is vital that you attend on the date as agreed. Please inform your manager as soon as possible if you know will not be able to attend.
A coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine developed by Pfizer/BioNTech has been approved for use in the UK. The vaccine is available in Northern Ireland from this week.
All care home and supported living residents have been prioritised for early deployment of the COVID-19 vaccine with planned delivery of the vaccine to residents in December and January.
All care home employees (both care and support/ancillary staff) are to be offered the vaccine at this stage as well.
Beeches managers are in the process of contacting all families to discuss the vaccination programme. The South Eastern HSC Trust are currently organising mobile units to visit care homes between 14th– 24th December to vaccinate residents and staff. This consists of an initial first dose followed 21 days later with a second dose.
We do not at this stage have any dates for when our homes will be offered vaccination in this first period but we will update this post as information is provided.
Please follow the links below for information relating to the NI Vaccination Programme. If you have any questions regarding the programme and how it affects your relative please do not hesitate to contact your home manager.
