Roald Dahl Project
One of our favourite authors is Roald Dahl so we have been reading some of his books during lockdown. We listened to the audio CD’s of ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, ‘The Enormous Crocodile’, ‘The Witches’ and ‘Matilda’. We also tuned into the YouTube readings of ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Taika and friends (accessed through the Roald Dahl website).
After this we chose our favourite books to illustrate, Karen and Debbie chose ‘The BFG’ whereas Desmond and Fiona chose ‘James and the Giant Peach’ – have a look at their fantastic work in the accompanying photos.
Using the iPad and lap top we learnt some facts about Roald Dahl: Karen discovered he was born in Llandoff, Cardiff on 13th September 1916 and Fiona found out that he wrote 49 books many of which were made into films.
After a vote we discovered that our overall favourite film was the original version of ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ staring Gene Wilder so watching this was the perfect ending to our Roald Dahl Project.
